VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR AVI  

Are you interested in playing an intergral part of the services we are trying to provide to the adopted Vietnamese community?  AVI is not funded and relies on the efforts of volunteers.  The below volunteer roles can short-term or long-term. 


 


Volunteer Roles Available to people who are adopted from Vietnam

Country contacts


Role: To act as one of the contact people for adopted Vietnamese in your country of residence.  Your name will be listed along with your email. A brief bio and photo can be posted. 
 

A general code of conduct is that contact people respect people's well-being, religious or other affiliations and matters of privacy. 


State Contacts - Australia

Role: To act as one of the contact people for adopted Vietnamese in your state of residence in Australia.  Your name will be listed along with your email. A brief bio will be posted.

Searching for Lost Relatives Researchers

Role:Opportunites to take on a researcher role for AVI's Searching for Lost Relatives general information and guidelines project. You will be asked to volunteer and be listed under the above title and to be familiar with the AVI searching info page.

Duties: AVI currently has a word document that lists a range of resources that are available to people who are beginning a search for birth parents or lost relatives.  Researchers may contribute to this list, or write pieces on how to begin a search based on their own experience, or how to explore particular orphanage records or apply for paper work etc. You may also wish to interview people who have found their birth parents or lost relatives and write an article on it. Written pieces must have the author's name, country of residence and email, they may include a brief biography and will be kept as word documents to be sent to enquirers.  The texts may also be posted.
